It's a satire on southerners, specifically Mississippi Delta folks, it also has wonderful trashy recipes, I giggled as I read this!
If you like true crime stories, and if you like things Chinese and Vietnamese, this would be the book for you! It's a nice fat book, and very well written. I'm about halfway through it, and it's been a real page turner, keeping me up WAY past bedtime!
